We can see Arcturus from Detroit during the seasons of late Spring, and Mid-Summer. Around the equinoxes is usually when we can see the star Arcturus, as well as the Continental U.S. It is usually seen with the constellation of Boötes in the northern part of the sky. It can be seen at a 19 degree angle in the sky. Arcturus' mass is about 1.1 times greater than that of our Sun. Arcturus is currently in the red giant phase of its life. Despite the name "red giant", Arcturus is actually orange.
